Responsible trading

Money in, credits out

Credits are bought with real currency and never turn back into it. Money you spend here is spent permanently — winning a market pays more credits, not a payout — and for most people trading more does not mean winning more.

If you need help right now

The National Problem Gambling Helpline is free, confidential and runs 24/7.

Call or text 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537)

In Illinois, the state helpline is 1-800-GAMBLER and the Illinois Department of Human Services also runs a problem gambling program. Chat support is available at ncpgambling.org/chat.

The honest math

Prediction markets are close to zero-sum. Every dollar someone wins came from someone who was wrong, minus the fee on top. Being generally well-informed is not an edge — the price already contains what everyone knows. You need to be right about something the market has priced wrong, repeatedly, to come out ahead.

Most people do not clear that bar. Assume you are most people until your own record over dozens of settled markets says otherwise.

Warning signs

  • Trading with money set aside for rent, bills, tuition or food.
  • Increasing position sizes to recover a loss.
  • Hiding how much you have deposited from people close to you.
  • Checking prices compulsively, or losing sleep over an open position.
  • Trading to change how you feel rather than because you think a price is wrong.
  • Borrowing — from anyone, including a credit card — to fund an account.

If more than one of those is true, the useful move is not a better strategy. It is a lower limit or a break.

Tools built into your account

Deposit limits

You set a monthly deposit cap when you sign up. Lowering it takes effect immediately. Raising it takes 72 hours — long enough that the decision is not made in the moment. Change yours in Settings.

Position limits

There is a maximum you can hold in any single market. It protects thin markets from being cornered, and it also caps how much you can lose on one conviction.

Taking a break

You can lock trading on your account for a set period. During a break you can still log in, see your positions and withdraw your cash — you just cannot open new positions. A break cannot be lifted early. That is the whole point.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time. Open positions are settled or sold back at the current price, and the remaining balance is withdrawn.

Rules we hold ourselves to

  • No credit. You cannot trade money you do not already have in the account.
  • No bonuses, deposit matches, free-trade offers, or loss-back promotions.
  • No push notifications designed to pull you back in.
  • No marketing to anyone who has set a break or closed their account.
  • Your deposit and loss totals are always visible in your wallet ledger, not buried.

For friends and family

If someone you know is struggling with gambling, the helpline above takes calls from family members too. You do not need the person's permission to ask for advice on how to help.

18+ only. If you are under 18, this platform is not for you, and an account in your name would be closed.
